News & Events for May 20-26
Mailboxes/Attendance Cards will be updaged next week. If you’ve been attending for a while, please check the Fellowship Hall because you may have a mailbox and don’t realize it! If you don’t have a mailbox, please let the office know by Monday!
Pastor James 30th Anniversary:
On June 1st, 1988 Pastor James officially began his job at RCC. And on June 3rd we are going to celebrate 30 years of ministry together! Please make a priority of being here for our morning service with a guest preacher, a special Elders Forum during the Sunday School hour, and a celebration banquet beginning at 5 PM. Spread the word and contact Pastor Bryan for any other information or questions.
We are planning on updating our photo directory in June. If you are newer to RCC or perhaps just missed your chance last year please plan on stopping by the Resource Room between 8:30-9:30 AM on May 27 or Jun 3 (both Sundays). Please contact the office with any questions.
It’s that time again! See the insert for a list of our grads and their open house information. If we’ve missed yours, please call or email the office.
Blank Offering Envelopes:
If you use these, PLEASE write your name and the fund you are giving to on the envelopes. The office doesn’t see your actual check and several items have been misapplied. Thank you!
Church Mailing Address:
Just a reminder that all mail to the church should be addressed to our PO Box, not the Winston Rd address. The actual address is on the back of the bulletin.
Memorial Day Services:
May 28th, 9 AM at Assumption Cemetery (across the street from RCC) and then at Oak Grove Cemetery (on Webster Rd).
Food Pantry Help Needed:
Food Pantry Helpers are needed on June 11th, July 9th, and August 13th. They have been short-handed and know that summer is a busy time and they will need more help.
Vacation Bible School:
Are you interested in serving in VBS this year? The dates are July 16-20 (evenings) and volunteers to teach, lead games, serve food, etc. are needed. Contact Pastor Bryan or Gina Sharpe for more information or to volunteer.
The elders are pleased to announce that Dave Rakosky has been in the process of becoming an elder at RCC. Our bylaws state that before he is installed a candidate for elder must be presented to the membership so that any concern over his qualifications can be made known to the current elders. We anticipate installing Dave in the position of elder sometime in May. Please prayerfully read 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and our bylaws (Article 4, Section 1) and contact a current elder with any feedback.
Roger Rose Memorial Service:
Saturday. Jun 9th at the Grace Bible Church in Owosso. We will post the time when we have it.
Hymn of the Month:
The Hymn of the Month is “O God, Our Help in Ages Past”. For more information on this hymn go to bit.ly/RCCMay18
