News & Events for Dec 17-23
Haiti Mission Trip Funds Open:
We have opened two funds relating to the mission trip to Haiti in January. One is to help cover the cost of going on the trip and gifts should be marked “Haiti Trip”. The other is to help cover the cost of 1000 Gideon Bibles in the local language. These cost $2 each. Mark these gifts “Haiti Bible Fund”.
Christmas Food Baskets:
We need potatoes, canned vegetables, and other non-perishable food items for the Christmas food baskets (approximately 10 total). Please bring your contributions by Dec 20th and put them on the table in the Fellowship Hall. Boxes will be packed on Dec 21st and can be picked up (by those who requested them) on Dec 22nd. Call the office on the 21st to confirm a pickup time.Thank you!
A note of thanks:
Thank you to all who helped with the events of this past week. The Food Pantry, Timeout for Moms, the Christmas Party Outreach, and the Forever Young Luncheon made for a week of many opportunities to touch lives in Christian love. Please pray that inroads were made and continued opportunities arise.
BUILD Men’s Conference:
Cost: $25. Speaker: Jared Wilson. When & Where: Feb 23-24th at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Grand Haven. Register at buildmensconference.com.
Together for the Gospel is holding a conference Apr 11th-13th in Louisville KY and you’re invited! James, Bryan, and Joe are attending the conference. There is an info card available on the Welcome Center. Visit T4G.org for more information and let the pastors know if you’re interested.
Did you know...
The missionary pictures in the narthex have a space behind them for updates? Every Wednesday, we put out the newest updates and will put a “new updates” balloon on the missionaries who have them!
We put closings on our website, our Facebook page, and on WZZM13.
If you have text messaging, you can go to WZZM13.com and register for text alerts to be notified whenever
we post a closing.
Left and Found is now located in the CE office.
Christmas Eve Schedule:
Sunday, Dec 24th, we will have our worship service at 10 AM and no Sunday Bible Classes. Then, we invite you back at 9 PM for our annual Candlelight Service.
As always, the church office will be closed on Christmas Day.
If you would like offering envelopes, please notify the office. If you have envelopes left from the current package, please use all of those before requesting new envelopes (you can request more envelopes at any time throughout the year.) We don’t pay any attention to the “date” on the envelope, just to the number that represents your name.
If you desire your gifts be credited to the 2017 calendar year, please be sure that they arrive in the office by January 5th (and are postmarked no later than December 31st). The date on the check doesn’t matter (though it should be no later than December 31st) but the postmark does. We will do our best to correctly assign your gifts and ask that you send them sooner, rather than later, to simplify our bookkeeping. Thank you!
Mailboxes and attendance cards:
We will be updating mailboxes and attendance cards this week! If you are attending RCC and don’t have attendance cards or a mailbox, please fill out the guest registration tab from the bulletin and be sure to note any children’s names on the “prayer request” portion (so we don’t miss them!) But be sure to check the Fellowship Hall because several of you already have mailboxes and may not realize it! We update them about every three months so, if you’ve been attending regularly, the odds are high that you have them!
Did you forget to grab your directgory at the Elders’ Forum last week? Or were you absent? If so, check your mailbox. If you didn’t get a copy, please contact the office.
