News & Events for Dec 10-16
Forever Young Luncheon:
If you are over the age of 55, you are invited to come this Thursday, at noon, for a free luncheon and a program after. Under age 55? We’d love to have you come midmorning to help with the cooking, serving, and/or cleanup!
BUILD Men’s Conference:
Cost: $25. Speaker: Jared Wilson. When & Where: Feb 23-24th at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Grand Haven. Register at buildmensconference.com.
Together for the Gospel is holding a conference Apr 11th-13th in Louisville KY and you’re invited! James, Bryan, and Joe are attending the conference. There is an info card available on the Welcome Center. Visit T4G.org for more information and let the pastors know if you’re interested.
Christmas Eve Schedule:
Sunday, Dec 24th, we will have our worship service at 10 AM and no Sunday Bible Classes. Then, we invite you back at 9 PM for our annual Candlelight Service. As always, the church office will be closed on Christmas Day.
Welcome, New Members!
Join us in welcoming Mike and Theresa Anderson and Mark and Emily Fullmer to membership here at RCC!
Forever Young Kitchen Helpers Needed:
The Forever Young lunch is this Thursday at noon. We are always in need of helpers but even more so this month as one of our main helpers is going to have surgery next week. Please talk to Janet Boardwell. We also need young people to serve the meal and bus the tables afterwards
Fellowship Time Help Needed:
We need coffee servers. If you can’t do an entire month, share with another couple! It’s a great way to get to know people. Please check the sheet outside the kitchen to see when you can serve. We also need homemade goodies (cookies, quick breads, sweet rolls, etc) to go along with the coffee!
Let us know that you’re here!
Please put your attendance cards in the basket by the mailboxes. Or fill out the visitor tab and put it in the offering plate. Note: If you’ve been attending for a while, you probably have a mailbox. Please check the Fellowship Hall.
Visitors: please fill out the back side of this tab and put it in the offering plate.
Please be sure to get your winter address (and the dates you will be gone) into the office. We will gladly send you a bulletin and/or CD each week. Just let us know what you would prefer.
Left and Found is now located in the CE office.
Christmas Food Baskets:
We need potatoes, canned vegetables, and other non-perishable food items for the Christmas Food Baskets. Items should be at the church by Wednesday, December 20th, and put on the table that will be set up in the Fellowship Hall. If you bring items before December 13th, please bring them to the church office (because of the Community Christmas Party outreach.)
If at all possible, we ask that you pick up the boxes and deliver them to the families you suggest. If you absolutely cannot do this, we will arrange for delivery. If we have a lot of boxes that need delivery, we may need volunteers to deliver. Please let the office know if you can help with deliveries.
Boxes will be packed on Thursday, December 21st, and can be picked up on Friday, December 22nd.
If you would like offering envelopes, please notify the office. If you have envelopes left from the current package, please use all of those before requesting new envelopes (you can request more envelopes at any time throughout the year.) We don’t pay any attention to the “date” on the envelope, just to the number that represents your name.
If you desire your gifts be credited to the 2017 calendar year, please be sure that they arrive in the office by January 5th (and are postmarked no later than December 31st). The date on the check doesn’t matter (though it should be no later than December 31st) but the postmark does. We will do our best to correctly assign your gifts and ask that you send them sooner, rather than later, to simplify our bookkeeping. Thank you!
Mailboxes and attendance cards:
We will be updating mailboxes and attendance cards the week of December 17th. If you are attending RCC and don’t have attendance cards or a mailbox, please fill out the guest registration tab from the bulletin and be sure to note any children’s names on the “prayer request” portion (so we don’t miss them!) But be sure to check the Fellowship Hall because several of you already have mailboxes and may not realize it! We update them about every three months so, if you’ve been attending regularly, the odds are high that you have them!
Did you forget to grab your directgory at the Elders’ Forum last week? Or were you absent? If so, check your mailbox. If you didn’t get a copy, please contact the office.
